Environment America, Environment Minnesota is hiring
Environment America is hiring additional college graduates to start next August, and Environment Minnesota is hiring interns for Carleton's winter break and winter/spring terms. Applications for both are due Monday October 31, and Michelle Hesterberg, Federal Field Associate, mhesterberg@environmentamerica.org, (612) 331-3315, will be on Carleton's campus November 2-3 to talk more with interested students.
Environment Minnesota is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy group, working to protect our air, water and open spaces. Right now, we’re working to protect the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota, advocate for solar energy, and protect the Clean Air and Clean Water acts. I’m working specifically to prevent Congress from weakening the Clean Air Act by showing support for strong clean air protections here in Minnesota.
Environment Minnesota is part of Environment America, a federation of 29 state-based environmental groups. Each year, Environment America hires passionate, talented and committed college graduates to join our two-year Fellowship Program.
If you’re hired as a fellow with Environment America:
• You’ll plan and run your own campaigns
• You’ll research and identify effective solutions to critical environmental problems. You’ll build and mobilize the political power it takes to make those solutions a reality.
• You’ll lobby lawmakers; publish opinion pieces in major newspapers and on key websites; set up and speak at news conferences; organize town hall meetings and rallies; and run citizen outreach campaigns to educate the public, build membership and raise money for our work. And recruit interns, activists, and staff to work alongside you.
• And you’ll get the training you need to make that difference. You’ll attend classroom-style trainings throughout the year, and work alongside some of the nation’s top environmental advocates and organizers. Past fellows will tell you, though, that you will learn the most through hands-on experience.
The fellowship is just the beginning. After just two years of hard work, you’ll have the skills and experience to take on even more leadership here at Environment America or elsewhere in the environmental community.
You can learn and apply (applications are due Monday, October 31) here: http://www.environmentamerica.org/jobs/available-positions/fellowship-program
I'll also be on campus Nov. 2-3 to talk more with interested students, so let me know if you would be interested in meeting with me to learn more about the program.
And if you’re not a senior yet, Environment Minnesota is hiring interns for Carleton’s winter break and winter and spring terms, and you can learn more about our internship program by getting in touch with me or looking at our website: http://www.environmentminnesota.org/internships. Internship applications for winter break and winter term are also due Monday, October 31.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Michelle Hesterberg
