Contact Jordan Smith, ’10, jordan.buchanan.smith@gmail.com. While at Carleton, I spent one summer at Mount Vernon as a historic trades intern. I then parlayed this into a full time job upon graduation, and continue to work there occasionally. The link to the internship is here: http://www.mountvernon.org/more/employment/internships. I would certainly recommend that Carleton students apply (particularly rising seniors and recent grads) as it provides housing in the very expensive DC market, ample research time, access to some incredible lectures, and an opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of historic trades and industries.
