Determining Readers for Comps Projects

Please write a short paragraph, stating the topic of your comps projects, together with any other important information. By “important information” we mean things like special needs for experimental equipment or native speaker informants. Maximum of one page.

Then, list the faculty member you would most prefer to be your primary reader, and say how your project matches up with their expertise, if possible. This part is optional, that is, you don’t have to choose a faculty member if you don’t want to. If you don’t we will do it for you.

These are due to the chair of the department no later than 5:00 pm on the last day of classes, fall term.

After we get pages from all of the majors, the faculty will meet and we will allocate readers to projects. We will try to satisfy all first choices, but we can’t guarantee that this will happen. We will also assign second readers in a way that we think is most effective. If you would like someone from outside the department to be your second reader, please consult with the chair of the department before asking anyone.
