Amy Shen '02
When did I graduate: 2002
Major: Asian Studies. Focus area: Linguistics
Comps: The Emergence of Japanese Katakana and Hiragana.
What Am I Doing Now: I just started my master's in Chinese linguistics at the University of Hawaii this September. On the side, I am also taking lot of classes from the Linguistics department here at the U of Hawaii on Phonetics and Phonology. I am still contemplating what I will do after my master's. One possibility is to become a college Chinese language instructor. The other is to continue as a Ph.D. student and do research on tonal perception and production, or Chinese pedagogy.
