Arika Okrent

After teaching in Hungary for a year, I ended up in Washington, DC where I got an MA in Linguistics at Gallaudet University. I then moved on to the University of Chicago where I got a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Psychology and worked in a brain research lab. I now live in Philadelphia, where I have recently completed a manuscript for a book about invented languages (Esperanto, Klingon, among others) that will be published by Random House in 2009. My website is www.wickedoasis.org/arika.
