In 2002 I received a B.A. in Linguistics with distinction. I also had a concentration in Cognitive Studies. I am now in a PhD program in Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University. I am interested in theoretical and typological syntax, and syntactic and lexical acquisition, with a focus on the way that different approaches to syntax make different empirical predictions about how languages are learned by babies. My 2002 Senior Thesis was entitled "A Survey of Texistepec Popoluca Verbal Morphology." It addressed subject and object agreement on verbs and other types of affixation on verbs in an indigenous language from southern Mexico.
