Sylvia Reed (Carleton '05)

Sylvia graduated in 2005 with a major in Classical Studies. In 2012, following completion of her dissertation, The Semantics of Grammatical Aspect: Evidence from Scottish Gaelic, she received the Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Arizona. Since Fall 2012, she is a Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of English of Wheaton College (Norton, MA). Sylvia is currently investigating nominal predication in Scottish Gaelic, the spatial and temporal semantics of prepositions in varieties of English, and the roles of different intervals in perfect semantics (among other topics).
