[Sylvia Reed (Carleton '05)]
I graduated in 2005 with a major in Classical Studies. Currently I'm a second-year grad student in the Linguistics Ph.D. program at the University of Arizona. My main interests lie in morphology, both theoretical and experimental, and psycholinguistics, as well as language documentation and preservation. Currently I'm working on a two-year project with Dr. Andrew Carnie on the syntax and morphology of Scots Gaelic. I'm writing my first comprehensive exam (=qualifying paper, prelim, etc.) on the inflectional morphology of Attic Greek. I'm also in my second semester of learning ASL, and I hope to work on both Scots Gaelic and ASL when I start my dissertation in another year or so.
