Bob and Ellen Kaplan Square a Rectangle

On January 24, 2008, Math Circle founders Bob and Ellen Kaplan modeled a math circle with a group of Carleton students and faculty. With help from the Kaplans, the group studied the problem of tiling a rectangle with squares of different sizes, eventually discovering the tiling in this picture.
