Rehearsals: Monday (Concert Hall Stage), Wednesday (MDRC Rehearsal Room) 6:30-8:00 p.m.

The Carleton Jazz Ensemble performs music of important figures in jazz band repertoire, including Basie, Kenton, Ellington, Herman, Rich, and Evans, as well as exploring current trends in contemporary jazz band compositions. Repertoire is selected from published works and original student compositions and arrangements. The Carleton Jazz Ensemble presents a formal concert each term in addition to periodic tours and special engagements. Admission by audition.

Audition Instructions

All of these files are in TIF format (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). Acrobat Reader can be used as a stand-alone application and as an internet browser plug in.
In addition to the prepared piece for the student's instrument, the student should expect to play major scales in all keys, sight-read a short excerpt from the repertoire, and improvise (optional).
