PAUL WESLEY “DOC” EVANS CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION CONCERT: Doc Evans Centennial Band in Concert
On October 5 and 6 2007 Carleton College will celebrate the centennial of the birth of its alumnus Paul Wesley “Doc” Evans ('29), who had a distinguished and varied career ranging from being a leading player of traditional jazz in the Midwest to starting the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. The celebration will kick off with an all-College convocation and concert by the “Doc Evans Centennial Band with Butch Thompson” and continue with a symposium led by distinguished alumni scholars John Hasse, Jeff Taylor and Mark Flaherty.
