Shopping in Cambridge

8 August 2006

Last weekend, I went shopping with Mark and Reshad. Although we have been in Cambridge for sometime now, this is the second time I actually went shopping. At the end of my shopping, I got a sweet ashtray (for my uncle who is a little less than a chain smoker), a pen and ¼ of a watermelon. I window-shopped for the most part. Although I did set my eyes on a few stores and I plan on going back to them at the end of this term. This time I might actually buy something.

Anyways, so we walked through the entire place mainly looking for some Cambridge sweatshirts. Getting ready for the winter term at Carleton! Reshad as usual walked like he owned the place and knew where everything was. So, it took us a while to get him to slow down and actually start looking around. We found the market place where we started to look for sweatshirts. Mark bought a really nice Cambridge hat for his dad. For a second, I felt like I should buy something for my Dad too but that thought disappeared pretty quickly. We walked around a bit more and soon Mark got pretty hungry and so we decided to find some place to eat. On seeing a Greek fast food place, Mark eagerly walked in and got a huge sandwich which took him about 25 min to eat. Since then, every time we walked into a store, Mark used to stand right outside with his huge sandwich peeping into the store, as he couldn’t get in. It was actually quite funny to walk into the store and 2 seconds later realize that one of us is missing and we look back to see Mark standing outside with his huge sandwich. At the end, he was very satisfied with his meal. We walked around a bit more and as we got tired we decided to walk back. It was on this way back, that we came across the store where I bought the ashtray for my uncle. It is a brass-coated one with the London Bridge in the middle and some monuments on the sides. I liked it.
