Antioch Brazil: Brazilian Ecosystems

Study, intern, and immerse yourself in biodiversity conservation with field specialists throughout Brazil, while exploring developments in environmental problem-solving. You'll spend 3 months in Brazil visiting nine different sites in six different states, while completing 4 courses and earning 16 undergraduate semester credits. You'll have hands-on, experiential learning in the Amazon, Atlantic Coastal Forest, subtropical forests, cerrado (savannah), and wetland environments. Work in a field internship that fits your area of interest. Study resource management and biodiversity issues with Brazilian scientists and activists and immerse yourself in local conservation issues in a small group.

Antioch College: Arts and Culture in Mali

The Arts and Culture in Mali program allows students to expand their creative faculties in the visual and performing arts in an exciting cross-cultural learning environment. Students develop a foundation for greater understanding of American culture while learning about traditional and contemporary Malian lifestyles and customs. Participants live and work with Malians, study French or Bamanankan, and explore indigenous, Islamic, colonial, and global influences on current social conditions. Artistic apprenticeships, rigorous study, group arts workshops, extended homestays, an independent project, gifted guest lecturers, and focused field trips are integrated into an exciting multi-faceted educational experience that supports each participant's personal and intellectual growth.

Antioch India: Buddhist Studies, India

Antioch India: Buddhist studies is a semester of study and meditation while living in a Buddhist monastery near the site of Buddha Shakyamuni’s Enlightenment. You'll engage in rigorous academic classes with highly qualified instructors, earning 16 undergraduate semester credits, have the opportunity to explore Buddhism in Bodh Gaya – center of the Buddhist world. Also you'll receive meditation instruction from masters in three Buddhist traditions: Vipassana, Zen, and Vajrayana, live with fellow students in a Buddhist community, the Burmese Vihar (monastery), gain valuable research skills, along with a greater understanding of Buddhist culture, Indian society, and yourself.

Antioch Education Abroad interweaves the diverse resources of Bodh Gaya into a fall semester study program. Emphasis is placed on a comparative approach to both theory and practice. Participants reach their own understanding of that essence which is common to all the varieties of Buddhism, while learning to appreciate the many cultural and historical environments in which it has flourished. At the heart of the Buddhist Studies Program is the desire to allow students to inquire into this subject from as many different points of view as possible. Students are encouraged to examine their own cultural and intellectual assumptions as they pursue these studies in a challenging and supportive environment.

Antioch University: Comparative Women's and Gender Studies in Europe

WGSE program participants engage in rigorous methodological and theoretical inquiry as they travel to Utrecht and Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Krakow, Poland; Prague, the Czech Republic; Berlin, Germany; and Istanbul, Turkey. Each student also conducts a self-designed, independent research project. Each research topic is unique -- past themes include: reproductive rights, LGBTQI issues, trafficking, queer youth support organizations, immigration issues, sex-work, feminist art, and many others.
