Phil 243 students to give class at Just Foods Coop

Students in Professor Jansen's Philosophy 243 class Animal Ethics: The Moral Status of Animals, will give a class on the humane treatment of farm animals at Just Foods in Northfield. Having visited local farms, interviewed local farmers and taken an animal ethics course, Carleton students will present their proposals and invite discussion on what stance and guidelines The Real Food Challenge should adopt with regard to meat and, in particular, the treatment of farm animals.

Congratulations to Jason Decker who was recently awarded a Mellon Endowed Fellowship. Jason was awarded the Fellowship based on the exceptional quality of his proposal on work on a research project investigating the epistemic significance of disagreement. He will be on leave, pursuing his research, next Fall and Winter terms. Congratulations Jason!
