Interpretations of Gravity

Einstein and Newton both pioneered modern interpretations of gravity. Newton developed the Universal law of Gravitation, while Einstein interpreted gravity as a result of general relativity and curved spacetime. These two interpretations are still standard today nearly 100 years after Einstein and over 350 years since Newton. This paper will focus on physically and mathematically describing these two theories, and will give particular focus to the historical setting in which they were discovered.
