Goodsell Observatory Open House

Goodsell Observatory Open Houses are always the first Friday evening of each month for two hours. Starting times vary as the sunset time changes. Dress warmly, as the domes are not heated. Open houses are canceled if it is cloudy. A full listing of Public Evenings at the observatory can be found at http://go.carleton.edu/83.

Time: 7:00 pm

Duration: 2 hours

The November 6 Goodsell Observatory Open House will be enhanced with some astronomy talks by Carleton astronomers. Join us for "Galileo and His Legacy," including the first astronomical telescope and a modern family-friendly, inexpensive telescope named after him; and "What Carleton Astronomers Do Today." If it is clear we will point the telescopes at stars, planets, and galaxies until 9 p.m. The talks will be held whether clear or cloudy.

This event occurs on:

  • Friday, November 6th, 2009
