Nuclear Power: How it Works and Where it’s Going

Since their development in the 1950's, nuclear power generators have quickly become major parts of the world's energy economy. Various reactors can differ greatly in their specifics, but all nuclear generators work on the same physical principles of nuclear fission and kinetic energy. This talk will explore those basic principles and describe how they are put to use in a nuclear reactor. This talk will also touch on the "generation IV" reactors that define the next step in nuclear power technology.
