- Project Vote Smart National Internship Program
Interns gain hands-on experience in politics and public relations, spending weekdays on projects ranging from tracking and summarizing key legislation to contacting candidates for issues positions and sending out press releases, while living at the Great Divide Ranch. - Minnesota House of Representatives Internship Program
Interns have the opportunity to acquire new skills and gain further knowledge of the political process. Wide range of responsibilities includes:
- Conducting research on specific issues
- Monitoring and reporting on committee meetings for legislators
- Researching and drafting responses to constituent inquiries
- Summarizing reports or bills
- Conducting opinion surveys
- Writing press releasesApplications accepted on a rolling basis, but best by mid-November. Prospective interns are placed with legislators and staff according to the interests and goals of each applicant. More info and application form at http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/edprog/intern.htm

All include individualized placement process and a choice of internships, work 4 days/week and intellectual enrichment 1 day/week, internship seminar with professional development and reflection components, elective seminar featuring site visits and off-the-record briefings with policy makers and thought leaders.
