Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunities
There are many opportunities for 10-12 week summer research programs for undergraduates throughout the country. The AAMC keeps a list that can be found here: https://www.aamc.org/members/great/61052/great_summerlinks.html
Note that this list may not be comprehensive- there are some schools that have programs not listed here. This will take some research to do on your own. If you know of a place that you would like to work in the summer, and it is not listed here, then go to the school's website and search for summer undergraduate research opportunities. It may take some “digging” but if they have a program then you should be able to find it!
Listed below are programs that have directly sent us links to their programs and advertised them. Not all schools do this. The list from the AAMC shown above is a great place to start!

The Critical Care Research Center of Regions Hospital will be accepting applicants for their year-long internship program, which begins June 2015. The internship application opens on March 9th, 2015, and will close on March 31st, 2015.

The Westmoreland Volunteer Corps (WVC) offers five men and women the opportunity to work in direct social, medical and educational services with the disadvantaged through one-year internships with Washington area service agencies.

Student Research at Another Institution: The Kolenkow-Reitz Fund provides student stipend and travel support for Carleton students working with non-Carleton science and math faculty at another institution during during summer and over winter break. Deadline for Summer Break Application: 5:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2015.

SURP provides an intensive 10-week research experience designed to help undergraduates perform outstanding cutting edge research at Pitt. Students are matched with research mentors, participate in weekly seminars and lab meetings and conduct laboratory based research. The SURP early deadline is February 1 and the final deadline is March 1. The program will begin May, 26 2015 and end July 31, 2015. Apply Here.
