Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunities
There are many opportunities for 10-12 week summer research programs for undergraduates throughout the country. The AAMC keeps a list that can be found here: https://www.aamc.org/members/great/61052/great_summerlinks.html
Note that this list may not be comprehensive- there are some schools that have programs not listed here. This will take some research to do on your own. If you know of a place that you would like to work in the summer, and it is not listed here, then go to the school's website and search for summer undergraduate research opportunities. It may take some “digging” but if they have a program then you should be able to find it!
Listed below are programs that have directly sent us links to their programs and advertised them. Not all schools do this. The list from the AAMC shown above is a great place to start!

Michigan Health Science Career Development Academy 8-week MCAT and medical school application preparation program with $3,250 (before taxes) stipend. Housing and meal plan provided. (May 17 through July 11, 2015). Each participant will have a medical student mentor and be provided formal and informal opportunities to network with faculty and staff.

The positions are designed for post-undergraduates who are interested in gaining experience in clinical research, quality improvement, and hospital administration. Academic Associates most often apply to medical school but also go on to pursue other careers in fields such as public health, research, and healthcare administration.

Hackensack University Medical Center offers an 8-10 week research internship during the summer to 2-3 outstanding undergraduate, post baccalaureate, and first year medical students interested in gaining clinical research experience in the following areas of pediatrics: Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Hematology-Oncology and Endocrinology.

Oregon Health & Science University is a nationally prominent research university and Oregon’s only public academic health center. As a world-class teaching hospital and research center, OHSU draws in students, scientists and patients from across the country and around the globe. At OHSU, Equity interns learn new research skills and gain hands-on laboratory and clinical experiences. They attend weekly seminars with fellow interns and faculty and scientists mentors. Established to assist young men and women pursuing degrees in medicine and science and to stimulate interest in the study of heart and blood vessel diseases. This $1,000 scholarship award is given annually to a student enrolled in a four year Minnesota college or university and working in a medically related curriculum. Deadline: April 1, 2015.

The University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) Combined Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity is a non-credit, ten-week, structured research experience sponsored by UMMS Office of School Services. The program consists of "hands-on" laboratory research with an investigator serving as a mentor, role model and advisor. The Combined Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity is funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and UMMS Office of Research. Summer Stipend of $4,000.

The Summer Program for Under-Represented Students (“SPURS”), a Biomedical Research Program, is designed to provide under-represented minority undergraduates with summer research fellowship experiences on the campus of, and under the mentorship of, faculty from the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. The MD Anderson CPRIT-CURE summer undergraduate research program is geared toward students who are interested in pursuing PhD or MD/PhD degrees in biomedical and/or cancer research. Duration: June 2, 2015 to August 7, 2015
The Toddler Developmental Disabilities Clinic/Yale Early Social Cognition Lab at the Yale Child Study Center in the Yale School of Medicine is interested in recruiting multiple highly qualified students from Carleton College for an exciting pre-doctoral fellowship for current graduates or graduating seniors. The position will commence in June 2015 and will be 2 years in duration. Apply by February 13, 2015.

The SUCCESS Program will enable students to participate in a 9‐week enriching research experience hosted by the Medical Scientist Training Program (stipend and travel allowance provided). While taking part in this program, students will take valuable professional development courses and learn from engaged mentors; all while working in state‐of‐the‐art research facilities. Two exciting opportunities for undergraduate students - the Summer in Biomedical Sciences (SIBS) Undergraduate Research Program 2015, and the Preparation for Graduate and Medical Education (PARAdiGM) 2015. Both of these programs introduce undergraduates to the exciting career options of being a scientific investigator while also being a practicing physician. You are invited to apply for our NIH/NCI-funded (5 R25CA023944-31) Pediatric Oncology Education (POE) Program <http://www.stjude.org/poe>. The program offers a unique opportunity for pre-doctoral students preparing for careers in the biomedical sciences, medicine, and pharmacy to gain biomedical and oncology research experience. Students participate in basic or clinical oncology research, research and clinical conferences, and a core lecture series designed specifically for them. The deadline for receipt of all 2015 application materials is February 1, 2015.
