EVMS is the only program in the country that offers a Graduate Certificate to qualified applicants in the
specialized area of surgical assisting. Individuals from their program post scores higher than the national
average on the national certification exam, and for the past eight years, 100% of their graduates have
passed the national certification exam on their first attempt.

Admissions Requirements:

EVMS is seeking candidates for their graduate certificate program with baccalaureate degrees in biology,
chemistry, nursing, exercise science or allied health, as well as candidates with degrees in other fields of
study, provided that they have completed the program prerequisites required. Candidates must have a
cumulative grade point average of 2.75 (B-) or better.
