Over the past five years, access to Russia and its neighbors has increased immensely, and we strongly encourage students to consider a term abroad. In Spring 1995 Carleton launched its own Moscow Russian Studies Seminar.
In addition, Carleton students take advantage of programs through the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), Council for International Education Exchange (CIEE) in St. Petersburg, the School for International Training (SIT) in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in other credited opportunities. In most cases, Carleton's two year sequence fulfills language prerequisites for admission to these programs. Part of a student's financial aid package can be applied to programs approved by the Office Campus Study Office. Students considering off-campus study in Russia or other countries of the Former Soviet Union should consult with Russian section faculty about opportunities and options.
