Elite Scholars of China
July 25 – August 5, 2011
Elite Scholars of China invites you to be part of a unique and intensive two-week pre-college experience for China’s brightest and most promising high school students who aspire to attend prestigious American colleges. The summer program will take place at Wellesley College, July 25- August 5, 2011.
Instructors develop and teach five 3-hour sessions over the two week period. The workshops are designed to be small-group sessions that strengthen the students’ reading, writing, critical thinking and presentation skills. In addition, the workshops should give the students an appreciation for the culture and expectations of an American college classroom, and provide students with the opportunity to develop the confidence and skills to be successful at an American college. In consultation with Elite Scholars of China, instructors develop the workshop content and are encouraged to focus on a topic of particular academic or personal interest.
Workshops will meet on July 25 (Mon), 27 (Wed), 29 (Fri), August 1 (Mon) and August 3 (Wed). The times will be 1:00 – 4:00 with a 15 minute break in the middle.
