 Julie Boatright Wilson '69, Harry Kahn Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University will speak about "The 21st Century Family: It's Not What You Think" Julie Boatright Wilson is the Harry Kahn Senior Lecturer in Social Policy. She is also Director of the Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy and Secretary of the Kennedy School. She is interested in poverty policy, family policy, and urban race relations. Among her recent projects are several case studies on the historical development of poor neighborhoods, studies on adoption from public agencies, and community-based strategies for strengthening families' capacities to parent. Wilson spent three years at the New York State Department of Social Services, where she directed the Office of Program Planning, Analysis, and Development.

This lecture is part of the 2012 Social Science Conference, "Preparing for Life in Families"
