Anne, Annie, Anya, Annushka . . . who is this enigmatic, shape-shifting woman? International terrorist or tragic muse? Porn star or the girl next door? Suicide, homicide, femme fatale or fashion model? Martin Crimp’s Attempts on Her Life takes us on a phantasmagorical ride through the 21st century in pursuit of the ever-elusive, ever-fascinating Anne. And as we try to unravel her mystery, we careen from the film studios of Hollywood to the civil wars of Africa, from art museums to interrogation chambers, finally realizing that the reality we’re seeking may ultimately be our own.

Throughout, the audience will be immersed in a multimedia environment, the live actors duplicated by their screen doubles, the outside world transferred inside in looming projections, the spectators unexpectedly brought face-to-face with their own image.

Contains mature subject matter.
