Announcing open access to the Haldore Hanson China Collection
February 5, 2009The Haldore Hanson (Carleton College '35) collection of photographs taken in China during the years 1937 and 1938 are now available to researchers outside of Carleton. Take a few minutes to look through these fascinating images of the Chinese conflict with Japanese troops, the Long March, and early photographs of the future founders of the People’s Republic of China.
The original photographs are part of the Carleton Library’s Special Collections. Please direct requests for duplication to the Curator, Kristi Wermager (kwermage@carleton.edu).
Announcing the Carleton Digital Collections site
June 19, 2008I am pleased to announce the Digital Collections website, where you can access the wide variety of online collections maintained by Carleton College. The site's offerings include historical collections like archival photographs, documents, and audio/video; alumni magazines; and zoobooks. They also include teaching collections like the Art & Art History department's Visual Resources Collection and class-specific resources like American Sublime, California Images, and others.
The site currently has ten collections with thousands of items. More items are being added regularly, and we expect to add additional collections over time.
We hope you enjoy browsing the collections. If you have any questions or comments, you can leave a comment on this blog or send an email to Carol Eyler at ceyler [at] carleton [dot] edu.
ContentDM Extension: Download Full-Sized Favorites
October 9, 2006Carleton has developed an extension for ContentDM which allows users to download the full sized version of any images they add to their favorites. This code works with ContentDM v4 and above, though it has only been tested on a Linux/Apache based server. It requires Perl and a few extra modules all outlined in the documentation.
