"The Civil Rights Movement in Minnesota: Portrait Narratives by Del Bey"
This exhibit of photographs and personal stories captures the experiences of Minnesotans who took part in the struggle for civil rights and racial equality here. Minneapolis photographer Del Bey presents formal black-and-white portraits with commentaries drawn from her oral history interviews of Minnesotans from many professions. Chicago-born artist and teacher Del Bey has been working in Minnesota for a decade. Her Civil Rights Movement project helped her "regain my belief in the power that individuals have to make a difference," and share that experience with audiences in the Midwest.
