Housing

Carleton College has limited housing available in the residence halls during Commencement Weekend for guests of graduating seniors. Rooms vacated by underclass students (generally doubles, triples and quads with a common floor bathroom) are identified by residence life staff for guest housing. These rooms may be reserved for the nights of Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13.

We recommend that individuals with severe allergies or asthma not be housed in the residence halls. You should also be aware that the residence halls are not air-conditioned.

To accommodate all guests, the number of guests for each graduating senior is limited to 4. The charge for housing is $20 per guest, per night. Linen packets including a pillow, blanket, sheets, towel and a washcloth are provided for each guest.

Guest accommodations will open at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12. You or your graduating senior may pick up your room keys at the table in Sayles-Hill Great Space. Check out time for the Friday night only stay is 5 p.m. on Saturday. For those also staying Saturday night, check out time is 12 noon on Sunday.

Print out a copy of the Commencement Guest Housing Reservation Form and send it to the Carleton College Business Office by Friday, May 15. Unfortunately, reservations postmarked later than May 15 cannot be accepted.

Questions regarding Commencement Guest Housing may be directed to the Office of Residential Life at 507-222-4072 or reslife@carleton.edu.

A list of area hotels and motels is provided for your convenience.
