ACT Center Working with Students to Organize Relief Efforts

September 8, 2005

From Laura Riehle-Merrill, Assistant Director of Campus Activities and ACT Coordinator:

Many of you have contacted the ACT Center to find out how you might help out with relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. The ACT Center staff will be working with students to organize efforts, and information will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, local efforts are underway.

Donations are currently being accepted in Northfield at Lansing Hardware (across the street from Econofoods) and they need volunteers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to help sort and organize donations. If you can help or would like more information, please contact Jutta Thompson at jutta@deskmedia.com or (507) 645-9508. To see a schedule of available volunteer times, please see the volunteerism posts on Northfield.org.

Thank you for your valuable contribution!
