Are you prepared for “real life?”  Life out there is NOT a TV reality show.  Survivors need skills.  This is your chance to learn what you need to know to reach your destination:  interviewing and writing resumes, creating your profile, and much more.  Start training!

Writing successful cover letters and personal statements – The Writing Center.  Learn the important basics of what (and what not) to include, how to shape your story, and how these texts are similar to and very different from Carleton papers.

Interviewing tips – Career Center: Learn how to articulate your skills to get the opportunities you want.

Discover your Pathway – Louis Newman, Associate Dean of the College & Director of Advising: The Pathways website will give you ideas for your post Carleton goals and how to work toward those while at Carleton.

Maximizing your Student Profile – Career Center: Remember that Student Profile you made last year? Learn how to get the most out of it.


The Center for Community and Civic Engagement – Your sophomore year is a great time to start applying your passions and interests towards creating social change and developing your leadership skills.  Stop by to learn how to get involved.
