    Faculty Recital: “The Soldier’s Tale” by Igor Stravinsky, Hector Valdivia, director

    As part of the campus-wide commemoration of the 90th anniversary of World War I, the Carleton music faculty commemorated the 90th anniversary of this classic chamber piece by Igor Stravinsky. The performance will be a semi-staged rendition of the entire work with Mary Martz, Ben Allen, and Rick Penning as narrator, the solider, and the devil, and instrumentalists Elizabeth Ericksen (violin), Nina Olsen (clarinet), Jackson Bryce (bassoon), Lynn Deichert (trumpet), Ron Rodman (trombone), Connie Martin (bass), and Dave Hagedorn (percussion).
