Purpose: The Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards memorialize famed air pioneer and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, who disappeared over the Pacific in 1937. By remembering Amelia Earhart through this fellowship, Zonta International encourages and supports women to expand their horizons by pursuing aerospace-related science and aerospace engineering. There have been 1,052 Amelia Earhart Fellowships totaling over $5.4 million awarded to 721 fellows worldwide.

Eligibility and Funding

Application Process: Interested applicants should include the following information in the official application.

  • Biographical information
  • List of schools attended and degrees received
  • Transcripts of grades and school verification form
  • Employment history
  • Plans for intended study
  • Essay on academic and professional goals
  • Three recommendations from professors (one must be from research advisor)

Fellowship Deadline: The application, recommendation, transcripts, and graduate acceptance or letter of current standing must be postmarked by November 15
