Don't know your username or password? A new automated system is now in place, allowing alumni with email addresses on record with the College to easily obtain their log in information.

Internet Explorer Users: Please see below for fixes to the most common issues, and contact the AAF at 800-745-2275 if you have any questions or need any assistance.

Fix for Internet Explorer 9 Users

Volunteers using IE9 have reported issues with running reports in the Portal. In Windows 7, please follow these instructions to uninstall IE9, and return to your previous version of Internet Explorer.

1. Click Start
2. In the search box, type: view installed updates, and hit enter
3. Search for: internet explorer
4. Right click it
5. Click Uninstall
6. Restart your system, Internet Explorer 8 will automatically be restored.

Fix for Internet Explorer 8 Users

Volunteers using IE8 have reported issues with viewing reports in the Portal. Please follow these instructions if you have recently installed IE8 and are experiencing these issues.

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools in the toolbar and select Internet Options. 
3. Click on the Security tab in the Internet Options window and select Local Intranet.
4. Click on Sites. A Local Intranet box will open.
5. Click on the Advanced Button and add https://cognos.carleton.edu in the Add section.
6. Click Close once the address has appeared in the Website box.
7. Click OK in the Local Intranet box.
8. Click OK to close Internet Options.

For best results in viewing the AAF Portal pages:

• On a Windows PC: Use Internet Explorer 8 (best/preferred) or Mozilla Firefox (acceptable, but please read our Notes for Firefox Users).
• On a Macintosh: Use an up-to-date version of Mozilla Firefox for best results. Please review our Notes for Firefox Users for best results. Safari and Explorer are not recommended for viewing the AAF Portal on a Macintosh.
• To save/print reports as PDF documents, make sure you have a current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Volunteer Portal Usage and Privacy Policy

The privacy of personal information is Carleton's top priority. Only you can update your personal information, and only the Carleton College AAF volunteers can view information. Carleton College has a strict policy never to release any personally identifiable information about alumni to third parties.

The information on these pages is for official Alumni Annual Fund use only. Use of the volunteer portal for any other purpose, including commercial or political communications, or solicitations for organizations other than the AAF, is strictly prohibited. Misuse of the volunteer portal will result in loss of access privileges. Report misuse to the Alumni Annual Fund at aaf@carleton.edu.
