About Us

The Marlowe Society of America is a non-profit organization of scholars that was formed over twenty years ago to promote research and scholarship on Marlowe's life, his works, and the times in which he lived, including his fellow playwrights and early modern stage history. Each year we sponsor two sessions at the MLA, and every five years we sponsor an international conference. Every two years we award the Roma Gill prize for the best new work on Marlowe, and we seek in a variety of other ways to promote scholarship and to disseminate notice of meetings, publications, productions, and events of interest to Marlovians.
