Pre-plan: Setting up menus

1. Determine the smallest unit of questions students will complete in one sitting. (This does not affect grading.) Will they complete an entire chapter at one time? Or will you have them do individual lessons? Individual activities?

For example:

If you want students to be able to skip lesson 1 and work on the questions from lesson 2, your smallest unit will be lessons.

If your students will always complete all of the exercises from each chapter from start to finish, then your smallest unit will be chapters.

2. For organization, you may want to group these units into larger sections.

This way you can have a main menu divided into smaller submenus.

For example:

If you divide your units into Chapters>Lessons>Activities, you will have a main menu showing each chapter name. By clicking on a chapter, a new menu showing each lesson name will appear. Finally, by clicking on a lesson, an activities submenu will pop up.

Navigating Can-8's menus

3. Contact the Can-8 Administrator (Carly Born) with this information. If there aren’t very many subdivisions to be made, you can simply call x7010. However, if you have a more complex menu system, you may wish to email (cborn) the information.
