Carleton Symphony Band sets the tone for a “Spooktacular” Halloween weekend

October 27, 2015

The Carleton Symphony Band, under the director of guest conductor Claire Larson, will set the tone for a spooktacular Halloween weekend with a special performance on Friday, Oct. 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall. An appropriately “eerie” evening of music, the performance will include Brian Balmage’s “Nevermore” and a haunting musical rendition of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven.” Other works in the program include Eric Whitacre’s “October,” “Theme and Deviations” by Minnesota composer Shirley Mier, and “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Andrew Boysen Jr.

This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Carleton College

Department of Music. Please call (507) 222-4475 for more information, including disability accommodations. The Concert Hall is located on First Street between Nevada and Winona Streets in Northfield.
