[Fatoumata Diabaté]Fatoumata Diabaté first studied photography at Promo-femme: Center for Audio Visual Education for Young Women, then attended the CFP--Cadre de promotion pour la formation en photographie--from 2002 to 2004 and pursued additional training in Switzerland. As a participant in the 2005 Bamako Biennale, she won the Afrique en création prize when she was twenty-five. The recipient of several international artist residencies, Diabaté participated in the 2007 and 2011 Bamako Biennales and exhibits internationally.

Fatoumata Diabaté a d’abord étudié la photo à Promo-Femme (Centre pour la formation audio-visuelle des Jeunes Femmes), et ensuite au CFP (Cadre de Promotion pour la Formation en photographie), de 2002 à 2004, avant de continuer sa formation en Suisse. En participant à la Biennale de 2005, elle a gagné le Prix Afrique en Création à l’âge de 25 ans. Lauréate de plusieurs bourses de résidence artistique, Diabaté a participé aux Biennales de 2007 et 2011 et à été exposée à l’étranger.
