Mamadou Konaté (b. 1959)

Mamadou Konaté, the proprietor of Kela-Phox, a Bamako portrait studio, began photographing special events in 1988 before opening his own studio in 1998. Experiments with more artistic and personal work, begun in 1994, have led to publications and to exhibitions in Africa and France. Konaté's work was featured in the 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2011 Bamako Biennales.


Propriétaire du studio Kela-Phox à Bamako, Mamadou Konaté a commencé à couvrir les occasions spéciales en 1988 avant d’ouvrir son propre studio en 1998. En  expérimentant avec une démarche plus artistique et plus personnelle à partir de 1994, il a publié et exposé en Europe. Des oeuvres de Konaté étaient présentes aux Biennales de Bamako en 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005, 2007 et en 2011.
