Andromeda
During the early decades of Goodsell Observatory’s operation, celestial scholars attached glass plates covered with photographic emulsion to telescopes. The resulting images of faint nebulous objects, including galaxies, required very long exposures. Today CCD cameras connected to telescopes produce digital images in tens of seconds to several minutes.
