David Pape, Sports Information Director
The former manager of publications and assistant to the director of public relations for the Arizona Diamondbacks, David Pape joined Carleton's media and public relations staff on July 30, 2007. Pape is responsible for all aspects of Carleton's athletic media relations and sports information operations. He maintains Knights Online, Carleton's official varsity athletics website, works with local, regional and national media in generating coverage of Knights, and generates all publications related to the athletic department, including game programs, recruiting brochures and media notes.
Pape spent the last nine years with Major League Baseball’s Diamondbacks, working in their public relations department. For the past nine months he's served as manager of publications for the club, helping them redesign their monthly magazine and game programs, along with numerous other responsibilities. Previous to that move, he worked as assistant to the director of public relations for the club for eight years, working all angles of media and public relations within the organization.
A 1997 graduate of Luther College (Iowa), Pape worked in the sports information office there for three years, was the sports editor of the school newspaper, and supervised athletic event student workers.
He and his wife, Bonnie, and their daughter, Hannah, reside in Dundas.
