Eric Sieger moved into his current role as Carleton's Director of Media and Public Relations in April 2007 after seven years as the school's sports information director.
Sieger provides strategic leadership for the College's public relations initiatives, including a comprehensive media relations program to communicate messages about Carleton to its constituency and the public at large, placing news stories in the local, regional and national media. He manages Carleton’s news web site, serves as spokesperson for the College when needed, responds to print, broadcast and web media requests for information concerning Carleton and offer contact with experts able to comment on newsworthy topics. He also assists faculty and staff in placing commentary pieces in newspapers, magazines, and on the web.
Sieger came to Carleton as the school's first-ever full-time sports information director in September 2000. He previously served in the same capacity at Carleton when the position was at the internship level during the 1997-98 school year. He was Alma College (Mich.) sports information director from July 1998 to August 2000, and also served as Alma's assistant director of athletics for one year.
He has served as Carleton's women's golf coach since July 2001, helping to build the Knights' program into one of the strongest in the conference and region.
Sieger and his wife, Amanda, reside in Dundas with their son, Evan, and daughter, Marea.
