Carleton’s Semaphore Repertory Dance Company Presents Their Spring Performance

May 22, 2013

The Semaphore Repertory Dance Company, a group comprised of advanced dance students at Carleton College, will present their annual spring performance on Friday, May 24 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, May 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. The performances will take place in the Weitz Center for Creativity Theater and are free and open to the public. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online at www.carleton.tixato.com/buy/.

The Semaphore Repertory Dance Company is open to advanced dance students by audition, and provides an intensive opportunity for students to develop as performers. Semaphore students strive to enhance the role of the dancer as a contributor to the making of art and to define their own individual gifts, and they are exposed to a variety of new forms of dance. A few pieces of student choreography are accepted for repertory each year. A group of Semaphore dancers were chosen to perform at the American College Dance Festival Association’s 2012 National College Dance Festival last spring in Washington, D.C.

This event is sponsored by the Carleton College Department of Theater & Dance. For more information about this event, including disability accommodations, call (507) 222-4431. The Weitz Center for Creativity is located at the corner of Third and College Streets in Northfield.
