St. Paul Pioneer Press Reviews Scott Dominic Carpenter's Debut Novel
The St. Paul Pioneer Press recently published a review of Scott Dominic Carpenter's debut novel, "Theory of Remainders," calling it "a compelling debut novel...a fast-paced, well-written story that is a perfect summer read for thinking people." The complete review can be found here.
“Theory Of Remainder” (Winter Goose Publishing) tells the tale of a father who seeks the truth about a traumatic past. Despite a career spent helping others, psychiatrist Philip Adler has never recovered from the loss of his own daughter fifteen years ago. When a funeral draws him back to his ex-wife’s homeland of France, the trip impels him to confront the past in a final search for answers, closure, and his daughter’s body.
Monkey See Monkey Read Bookstore in Northfield will host Carpenter at a special booksigning event on Tuesday, June 25. Additional upcoming readings and signings are scheduled at the Minneapolis Women's Club on Wednesday, June 26; and the Laureate's Writer's Series in Winona on Tuesday, July 2.
Scott Dominic Carpenter is a professor of French at Carleton College and the author of the recent short story collection, “This Jealous Earth” (MG Press, 2013). A Pushcart Prize nominee, Carpenter has published broadly in literary journals. His work has been included in the “Best Indie Lit New England 2012.”
