Carleton alumni score at 2005 World Games in Ultimate frisbee
Three Carleton College alumni—Deborah “Deb” Linn Cussen ’98, Chase Sparling-Beckley ’04, and Miranda Roth ’04—played for Team USA in Ultimate frisbee at the 2005 World Games in Duisburg, Germany. They went undefeated against the best co-ed nationals teams in the world, bringing home the gold medal on July 24 against Australia. Alexander “Alex” Nord ’01 was an alternate for the team. Cussen majored in geology and environment and technology studies, Sparling-Beckley in studio art and biology, Roth in neuroscience and Nord in biology at Carleton.
