Dining Board

Contacts: McKay Duer, Senator

2008-2009

  • Update 11/02/08:
    • Black coffee will be available near the Pepsi fountain in the Snack Bar during peak times so as to minimize lines.
    • A pot of hot water will be available near the condiments in Sayles for students to bring tea and fill up their mugs.
    • The coolers in the Snack Bar will be restocked with requested food items.
    • More vegetarian options will be offered in Burton.
    • The middle line in the Snack Bar will be open during peak hours.
    • Items from the cooler (sushi/cookies/yogurt) will be available upon request in the middle line.

  • Issues Addressed:
    1. Lack of snack food in Sayles
    2. Inability to bring coffee out of the dining rooms
    3. Long lines in Sayles
    4. "Late Night" food being offered throughout the day
  • Paths Toward Solutions:
    1. Coolers have been identified and ordered that will be placed inSayles to carry more of the "grab and go" food we're used to (ie. pitas & hummus, and string cheese), if you have any snack food
      suggestions please email duerm@carleton.edu
    2. Bon Appetit management is looking into purchasing 10 oz. to-go cups with lids so coffee can be brought out of the dining halls and to class.
    3. The check-out in the middle of the snack bar should be open during peak hours and if not please ask an employee to open the register.  Staffing, however, has been a bit of a problem so please be patient with this transition period.
    4. The "Late Night" food (ie. quesadillas) should be available throughout the day if you just ask for them.
