What is the difference between an At-Large position (e. g. Budget Committee member) and a CSA position (e. g. Class of 2023) rep?

Every position except for Senate Liaison positions is called at-large. This means “not a Senator.” The designations-Senator vs. at-large-matters only for Senate subcommittees (Budget Committee, Committee for Student Projects, etc.). On Senate subcommittees, Senators cannot serve at large, because those committees make recommendations to Senate and, with two official Senate Liaisons already, must remain autonomous from Senate.

How should the difference between at-large and Senate positions influence my application?

If you apply and are appointed for the Class of 2023 position, for example, you cannot also serve at-large on Budget Committee or Committee for Student Projects. If you currently have a Senate position, you cannot apply and be appointed for those two positions without resigning from Senate.

Can I apply for both Senate and at-large positions?

Definitely, you can apply to however many positions you want from either category. In your application though, you should mention whether your prefer serving on Senate, one of its subcommittees or another committee entirely.
