ECC

EAC

Task Force: Bertok, Hasskamp, Greenberger

Chartering Committee: Griffiths, Acree

ITS: Ansell, Gold, Moore (committee increased to three senate members rather than two by a vote of 14:0:0). Report: looking into getting better furniture in the computer labs. There will be remodeling this summer including more computer upgrades. There were some viruses that got into the computer system this weekend, that's why it was slow this weekend -- they are being cleaned out. Watch out when downloading MP3s -- students at other schools have been sued for having copy-written MP3s.

St. Olaf (Rohach): The Indigo Girls will be at St. Olaf on Thursday with Wynona LaDuke. Rockapella on Sunday was great, working on the Powder-Puff game for May 10th. Hart: There will be buses to and from the Indigo Girls concert -- there will be a BC request for the funding of this bus coming soon.

New Business

Caucus: (issue brought to the senate by students Katie Jumbe and Filmona Gebreab) Personal attacks that are posted on caucus about new senators are disrespectful, insulting, and immature. These are student elected representatives which is insulting to those who voted. In-senate fighting should not be public, it is a very personal subject that should be taken up privately. We would like to see this new senate focus on the issues, not the bickering between senators. Motion to end discussion, seconded, passed (10:5:0).

Announcements

Bartel: would like suggest new senate locations, possibly first Burton or first Nourse lounges. Eubanks: will continue looking into this idea. Hart: the senate meetings are open to all faculty and staff, and putting them in a dorm prohibits entry for all faculty and staff.

Introduction of Matt Strait, the CSA Senate webmaster. Ethan Sommer, the second webmaster was not in attendance.

Adjournment, 8:45pm
