 Resolution Endorsing Campus Kitchen Project

January 26th, 2009

 CSA Senate passed a resolution concerning the new graduation requirements being considered by the Faculty and ECC.

October 6, 2008

Senate passed a resolution requiring for greater transparency of CSA committees and working groups. CSA president will also be asked to give a "State of the Carleton Student Association" address once per term.

May 12, 2008

Senate passed a resolution charging the College to address low retention rates for black students at Carleton by reevaluating the RAD requirement, introducing a power and privilege training program for First Year Students, and engaging the community in dialogue about ways to improve the campus climate for marginalized students. Included in the resolution was a commitment by Senate to actively engage in these dialogues and participate in a privilege training program.

November 7, 2005

Senate passed a resolution encouraging the College to purchase fair trade products whenever possible. For the full text, see the link on the right.

May 16, 2005

Senate passed the following resolution:
"Recognizing that many of the computers that Carleton pays to recycle would be very useful to charitable organizations or students without computers; let it be resolved that the Carleton Student Association (CSA) urges ITS and NEO to work together to donate working computers that Carleton no longer has use for. The CSA further urges the College to adopt a policy that favors donating usable computers."

May 2, 2005

Senate passed a resolution encouraging the College to build at least two additional wind turbines to supplement the existing structure on the basis of its environmental impact, its reflection on the College, and financial implications. For the full text, see the link on the right.

April 11, 2005

Senate passed a resolution encouraging the placement of a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee on each committee which implements construction projects on campus. For the full text, see the link at the right.

Senate passed a resolution requesting an official College policy requiring the use of 30% post-consumer paper when possible. For the full text, see the link at the right.

May 31, 2004

Senate passed a resolution encouraging the Red Cross to reevaluate their blood donation policies regarding men who have had sex with men since 1977, while recognizing the importance of blood donations. For the full text, see the link at the right.

October 21, 2002

Senate passed a resolution opposing the impending war in Iraq.
