Welcome to my home page. I am an Assistant Professor in the philosophy department at Carleton College and an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Center for Bioethics at the University of Minnesota.

My research is in ethics, with a focus on issues in normative ethics and biomedical ethics, although in the past two years I've written two papers with my colleague Jason Decker at the intersection of our interests (ethics and epistemology). You can learn more about those paper and my other research here. You might also check out my PhilPapers page and my Academia.edu page.

I am co-organizing a workshop on pediatric bioethics that you can read about here.

I'm on leave for the entire 2012-2013 academic year. I'll be spending part of that time at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University as a Visiting Researcher as well as some time at the University of Chicago. Next year, I'll be teaching Ethics, Medical Ethics, Life & Death as well as a seminar (topic: TBD).

Finally, I front The Counterfactuals. Our album will be out in the fall!
