  • Plan, implement, and evaluate all policies affecting Residential Life

  • Select and supervise residential life professional staff

  • Involvement in college-operated residence halls and houses planning and development

  • Develop long-range plans and objectives for Residential Life

  • Liaison with facilities, custodial, ITS, and dining services staff

  • Furniture selection and replacement

  • Lead and manage housing operations and programs including Room Draw and first year student housing

  • Assist with the supervision, selection, and training of the RAs

  • Oversight of Residential Life student conduct system
  • Provide counseling, advising, and mediation services to individual students and staff

  • Work with students who need housing accommodations

Residential Life Responsibilities:

  • Staff Supervision
    • Area Director (AD) supervision, training and evaluation
    • Resident Assistant (RA) hiring process, training program, and evaluation
  • Student Conflicts and Other Miscellaneous Concerns
    • Advising, counseling, conflict resolution, and mediation for students
    • Resource to staff and students about general concerns and community issues
    • Meal Plan Exemptions 
      • Review requests, advise & meet with students, and coordinate efforts with dining services regarding meal plan reductions and exemptions (for documented health conditions requiring special diets that cannot be accommodated by the college's dining services provider)

    Title IX Deputy for the Student-to-Student Sexual Misconduct Complaint Process & SMS Adviser:

    • Amy will assist students who have questions and need support with issues of sexual misconduct. When you contact her, she can:
      • Explain what you can expect when filing or responding to a complaint
      • Discuss your options in reporting Sexual Misconduct
      • Help you complete a “Community Concern” form, informing the Dean of Students office of sexual misconduct or other concerning behavior
      • Connect you with support people and resources
      • Serve as your Sexual Misconduct Support (SMS) Adviser, or help you connect with another SMS Adviser, if you decide to go through the complaint process
