Carleton Microfinance (CMF)
Who are we?
The Carleton Microfinance Club (CMF) is a student organization that seeks to generate awareness about issues surrounding Microfinance among its members and the broader Carleton Community.
Group members have established the following goals for the club:
- Increase awareness of the workings of Microfinance and its different models around the world
- Raise funds domestically to invest in foreign micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries through Kiva.com, an online interface to connect donors with Microfinance institutions (MFIs)
- Collaborate with local Microfinance initiatives to generate awareness about their progress and conduct due diligence on new endeavors
- Regularly communicate with professionals working in Microfinance to learn from their experiences and better prepare students looking for a career in the field
